THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON AN ANIME..... Just kidding. ^^
Okay blogging has become arcane. Anyways, I just had to blog about the movie event of today: PAPRIKA.
-- Damned parade. It'll be the lasting memory you'll have of the movie. Joyce, it will not stop spooking me. The oven on top of a refrigerator and 3 umbrellas, the walking tourist attractions, the countless dolls and the trumpeting frogs. BWAHAHAHA!
I'm sorry to all those who are not officially 16 cause they do check your IC thoroughly. It's shown at THE PICTURE HOUSE. And there ONLY. Joyce and I were the YOUNGEST people there. And the only ones wearing uniform.
So anyway, it was FREAKY. Not in a scary way...in a...umm... weird? For the lack of a better word. But if you get freaked out by shows like Beyond Belief, then after watching this, you'll avoid sleeping at all cost.
Anyway here is the plot synopsis...
Taken from ANN: In the near future, a revolutionary new psychotherapy treatment called PT has been invented. Through a device called the "DC Mini" it is able to act as a "dream detective" to enter into people's dreams and explore their unconscious thoughts. Before the government can pass a bill authorizing the use of such advanced psychiatric technology, one of the prototypes is stolen, sending the research facility into an uproar. In the wrong hands, the potential misuse of the device could be devastating, allowing the user to completely annihilate a dreamer's personality while they are asleep. Renowned scientist, Dr. Atsuko Chiba, enters the dream world under her exotic alter-ego, code name "PAPRIKA," in an attempt to discover who is behind the plot to undermine the new invention.
It's a new genre of anime movie apart from Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies or Howl's Moving Castle.
The movie was gripping. The type where you wouldn't move or blink for a second, afraid that you'll miss an extremely important part of the movie. Every scene is unexpected. You cannot predict what is going to happen the very next second. Also the movie has no scenes where they let you calm down and take a breather. It's fast-paced. Half-way through the movie you'll get lost with what's reality and what's a dream. It's a rather long movie but it's not draggy. It's almost amazing that it's action-packed throughout the movie and you won't get tired or bored of it like how you felt when you watched Spiderman 3. It's also rather abstract in some parts. But even if you didn't understand it you'll enjoy the rest of the movie nevertheless. AND IT'S SUBBED! NOT DUBBED! THANK GOD! The soundtrack is no slouch either. But unfortunately for you J-rock fans, it's not your genre. It's mostly instrumental but it's great if you enjoy such music.
RATING: 9.9/10 A movie that you really should not miss. It was literally mind-blowing. -The 0.1 goes to the subtitles. Some parts the subtitles weren't clear. Doesn't spoil the movie...but not knowing stuff isn't nice...>:O
JOYCE I STILL DON'T LIKE IT THAT ATSUKO IS WITH THAT EEUUURRRGGHHH!!!! RAWR!!!!!!
1st things first, I know it's late, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DENISE! I messaged her but I don't know if she received my message...
2: I didn't get into VJC. They said they had no space. Ah whatever. I went for the audition cause of pressure from everyone.
3: I F**KING GOT A DRUMSET FOR 568SGD! It's not 2nd hand okay?! It's like fresh and new out of the warehouse and it's PEARL. Now that's what you call a bargain! But the downside was I had to carry it back BY MYSELF. Cause I went to shop alone. A SIXTEEN YEAR OLD GIRL WITH 2 HUMONGOUS AND INSANELY HEAVY BOXES WALKING OUT OF THE SHOP CAUGHT PEOPLE'S ATTENTION.
4: First time my tuition teacher got angry with me cause I wasn't working hard and O levels is around the corner...
5: DAMN IT! IN ADDITION TO THE 4TH POINT, I'M PLAYING FLYFF AGAIN! An MMORPG. SUCKS! Not good, not good at all.
6: Let's add on to my already worrying state by saying that I am studying and practicing DRUMS and not maths. =D
7: I gave drumming lessons to Sharon and Adeline on the 2nd of July 2007. It was a 1 hour plus session but they can play along with songs ALREADY!!! AHAHA! Who wants lessons?! It's free. I REPEAT, FREEEEE!!! Or you all can always buy me a drink or such...
8: At this point, I realized I'm jumping situations. But let me continue, JOYCE LIM! YOUR FREAKING RETARDED! You and your sense of sacarstic humour in FLYFF will NOT BE FORGOTTEN. Bith...-that's not a typo. =P
9: Since the purchase of a drumset, we quadrops have switched our occupation from gamers to musicians! Okay Sharmila doesn't know anything about this, but we're making her the tambourine player. Unless SCAR, you surprise us with your musical talent, that shall be your role.
10: WE TAUGHT NATASHA(Einstein's younger sister) HOW TO PLAY THE DRUMS! OMG IT WAS SO CUTE I SHOULDA VIDEOED IT!
11: Adeline, Sharon and I have had 2 jamming sessions already. We're not bad okay? Considering Adeline just learnt the drums properly, although she hasn't mastered how to finish off a bar with a fill-in and I am a classical not an electric guitarist. Our successful songs are: Collide(Howie day), Stay(Cueshe), Wake me up when september ends and superman(Five for Fighting).
Well MORE SONGS could be successful if Sharon had a Keyboard. Well it's unfortunate.
Okay I admit, we do need more members.
Vacant positions: Guitarist 2 Lead Vocalist Bass Guitarist
Denise and Drusilla has self proclaimed to be the band's leader singer and band manager. When Ade heard she gave the "whatever...!" Look...
By the way, our band doesn't have a name yet. Boohoo. Denise, you can be the singer but your NOT ALLOWED, I repeat, NOT ALLOWED TO NAME THE BAND! HMPH! Some stupid name ,"The Breasts". Wth...
Been a FREAKING long time since I blogged. Argh, loosing it Jan...loosing it...
