Face the Nightmare...
THIS IS YOUR BRAIN ON AN ANIME.....Just kidding. ^^
Okay blogging has become arcane. Anyways, I just had to blog about the movie event of today: PAPRIKA.

I'm sorry to all those who are not officially 16 cause they do check your IC thoroughly. It's shown at THE PICTURE HOUSE. And there ONLY. Joyce and I were the YOUNGEST people there. And the only ones wearing uniform.
So anyway, it was FREAKY. Not in a scary way...in a...umm... weird? For the lack of a better word. But if you get freaked out by shows like Beyond Belief, then after watching this, you'll avoid sleeping at all cost.
Anyway here is the plot synopsis...
Taken from ANN: In the near future, a revolutionary new psychotherapy treatment called PT has been invented. Through a device called the "DC Mini" it is able to act as a "dream detective" to enter into people's dreams and explore their unconscious thoughts. Before the government can pass a bill authorizing the use of such advanced psychiatric technology, one of the prototypes is stolen, sending the research facility into an uproar. In the wrong hands, the potential misuse of the device could be devastating, allowing the user to completely annihilate a dreamer's personality while they are asleep. Renowned scientist, Dr. Atsuko Chiba, enters the dream world under her exotic alter-ego, code name "PAPRIKA," in an attempt to discover who is behind the plot to undermine the new invention.
It's a new genre of anime movie apart from Spirited Away, Grave of the Fireflies or Howl's Moving Castle.
The movie was gripping. The type where you wouldn't move or blink for a second, afraid that you'll miss an extremely important part of the movie. Every scene is unexpected. You cannot predict what is going to happen the very next second. Also the movie has no scenes where they let you calm down and take a breather. It's fast-paced. Half-way through the movie you'll get lost with what's reality and what's a dream. It's a rather long movie but it's not draggy. It's almost amazing that it's action-packed throughout the movie and you won't get tired or bored of it like how you felt when you watched Spiderman 3. It's also rather abstract in some parts. But even if you didn't understand it you'll enjoy the rest of the movie nevertheless. AND IT'S SUBBED! NOT DUBBED! THANK GOD! The soundtrack is no slouch either. But unfortunately for you J-rock fans, it's not your genre. It's mostly instrumental but it's great if you enjoy such music.
RATING: 9.9/10
A movie that you really should not miss. It was literally mind-blowing.
-The 0.1 goes to the subtitles. Some parts the subtitles weren't clear. Doesn't spoil the movie...but not knowing stuff isn't nice...>:O
JOYCE I STILL DON'T LIKE IT THAT ATSUKO IS WITH THAT EEUUURRRGGHHH!!!! RAWR!!!!!!
