What Your Friends Truly Think....

A simple game of Taboo wasn't supposed to cause so much controversy and discomfort to people. However, when Adeline, Sharmila and Sharon came over to my house. It did just that.

After dinner we decided to test out our newly aquired game of Taboo from Toys R Us. This simple game commercialized by Hasbro allowed us to finally understand what goes through the minds of the very people who are close to you.

Word 1: PLAYGROUND (Janice)
Me: Okay this is somewhere Ade won't go to because there is a lot of ......?!
Sharon: Vegetables
Ade: WHAT?! IS THAT WHAT YOU THINK OF ME?! YOU MEAN I WON'T GO TO A SUPERMARKET?!


Word 2: SCANDAL (Sharmila)
On a windy December night, 4 friends gathered on the floor and played a game of Taboo. It was Sharmila's turn to give clues while Sharon, Adeline and Janice guessed. Sharmila picks up a card from the box and reads slowly. The 3 friends eagerly awaited the clue, heads inching forward to Sharmila with the intense concentration. Sharmila, after reading the card, eyes full of glimmer and intelligence, ready to give her clue. She looks at her 3 friends with an earnest and grim look of a lawyer ready to present her case. She says, "SEX".
Ade, Sharon, Me: WHAT THE HELL?!


Word 3: WIG (Ade)
Ade: Okay Joyce will have to wear this if she continues eating maggie mee


Word 4: DRAINED (Ade)
Ade: After running 2.4km you would feel....?
Me: Exhausted
Ade: Nono it's something you can find in the toilet
Sharon: Shitty.

Ade: Okay your intestines have this
Me: Villi
Sharon: Mucus
Me: GO SEE A DOCTOR NOW!
Ade: Nono! Your intestines have this and you can hang clothes on it too!
Sharmila, Me: -gasp-

Sharon: Okay... Joyce has low....?
Ade: Self Esteem


Word 7: LOCATION (Ade)
Ade: Okay Janice, when we play tagteam gun game, I'll ask you "where is your.....?"
Sharmila: Brain
Me: Go to hell.


Word 8: DRAGON BOAT (Jan)
Me: There's a festival for this.
Ade, Sharon, Shar: Chinese New Year, Deepavali, Halloween.....
Me: No..err.... it's on water.
Sharon: River Ang Bao


On Christmas, the drama continues....
