Career In Politics

I admit, time after time I have considered a job in politics. The job although is harsh and stressful, it seems like a real exciting career to do in a lifetime! The political DEBATES, the pay you get as a parliament member or a senator in our Singapore government is awe-inspiring(I mean during the recent campaign, the PAP could give out money for heaven's sake!) and, when you become a Minister, you become famous and you MUST BE KNOWN. If people don't know you, they're regarded as ignorant. But if they don't know Mediacorp artists, people wouldn't care!

But the thought of having to be exceptionally charismatic, the unsheltered career life and the unstableness of the job makes a person withdraw the idea of being a politician. You have to depend on votes to keep the job, and that once in 4 years campaign is not really appealing. ALSO, the public just enjoy blaming whatever that goes wrong in the country on the government. People like me... I'm afraid...

The Singapore government thankfully, is not corrupted, or the idea of being a parliament member is not alluring at all.

HENCE, I decided to become the closest and safest thing to a politician: LAWYER! I can still debate with others(my career choice seem to revolve around debating for some reason or another...). I mean winning a DEBATE, I stressed it because it arguing is not a good thing, can bring an extreme sense of achievement and victory. Knowing you've out-witted and out-played your opponent really gives a superb feeling.

What's more, lawyers can join people in matrimony! And fight it out in the court of law! Sounds thrilling! And if your good enough, YOU CAN BE A JUDGE!!! Be called, "My Lord..." My sister laughed when I said that.
But what holds me back from being a lawyer is that, MUST I REALLY WEAR THAT WIG?! And, I have to memorize 10000000 law rules. I hate memorizing.

A little ambitious on my part though, but these jobs are to me, very enthralling.

I thought of being a Business psychiatrist, a micro-organism scientist, a journalist(or anywhere along that line) or a medicine researcher(I want to discover a extremely useful drug and win the Nobel prize. Haven't given up on this ambition yet!!!)

Okay getting back POA paper tomorrow. I'm really happy I scored well.
