Childish Innocence to Grown-up Maturity

Isn't it funny? How block headed you were when you were young? The games you play, the things you do, the jokes you say, all seem so stupid. You would palm your forehead and shake your head whilst recalling the past.

I thought of this topic when I was remembering the time Denise found a letter I wrote to her 6 years ago. I could not understand what in the world was I thinking about.

Kids are just so innocent. Some things in their everyday speech would make us teenagers cringe. Like for example, "Let's play with the ball!" -No dirty thoughts now you sicko minded freaks-

Remember when the time at a certain age, where suddenly your jokes would only include sacarsm or for some, *cough*Sharmila*cough, sex? Kids jokes, to me are really freaking annoying. So now I'm wondering how was it like to the adults when I was young...

When we were young, none of us would care about sex or anything close to that. But all of a sudden it hits us that it's a part of our life. Hell, many of us would squeal when people talk about us getting a boy/girlfriend when we were young. But now? Yes we still do squeal, but reasons are the total opposite.

OR how about the time when we would cling on to our parents as our shield from whatsoever. But now we want the total opposite, for them not to be around us, cause it's embarrassing, probably?

ALSO! Remember the time when you thought something for $50 was something you can never buy for yourself in your life. But now, only if something cost $5,000,000 then you experience that similar effect. See the difference?

And remember when you would just say what you want when you want it? Like if you don't like something, you would just say it out so loud for everyone to hear? But now, you know you should not cause it's plain rude.

It's so weird how maturing can affect your whole psychological life. Being so open to other things now and then can change you so much.

I'm not saying that maturing isn't good. I mean, now you understand more and have a much better social etiquette than a child. But nothing is perfect in this world. Hence, there are some negative effects of maturing.

Even though what I have listed out might show that maturing is not good, I enjoy maturing. It's part and parcel of life which makes it less boring and more colourful.

PS: Some of you might be thinking of Drusilla while reading this. BUT DO NOT MAKE REFERENCE TO HER. She's not normal. =) hehe.
