Scare Fest 1 - BIOSHOCK
Right blogging has become something that's even more rarely done then maths revision. Sucks. Understand that maths to me, is something I would choose not to touch unless the situation calls for it.ALRIGHT PRELIMS IS OVER! And the games have started once more just for awhile. Right now I'm in possession of 2 newly bought games that is...
1. Voted the video game with the scariest level ever created, and
2. The game that is on highest demand this week.
The title gave away the 2nd point. BIOSHOCK. Any gaming magazines, shops or whatever related to video games will be advertising and proudly selling this game. I got it. I'm happy.
What's the point of having a good computer and NOT play the best games? I mean what's the point? If you plan on just doing homework with a computer, JUST BLOODY STICK TO WINDOWS 95 with a graphics card memory of 16mb with directx 5! Now shoo off you losers!
Okay sorry, people who don't game and have a great computer is just idiotic. It's a waste!
MOVING ON TO BIOSHOCK!
Intro:
The story in the game starts at 1960, playing as Jack, my character was just involved in a plane crash somewhere near the mid-Atlantic ocean. Isolated and helpless, I swim at full speed towards a deserted lighthouse. I'm greeted in a dim-lighted room with a enormous statue glooming over me with a banner reading: NO GODS OR KINGS. ONLY MAN.
The description placed in front of the statue reads: "In what country is there a place for people like me?" ...........

I explore the lighthouse and stumble upon a submarine-like object. With no other choice, I step into it and activate the ship. It brings me to the bottom of the ocean. To Rapture.

The graphics are stunning no?
Rapture is now DEAD. The city is now full of mutated and mutilated beings.
"Rapture, a city where the artist would not fear the censor, where the scientist would not be bound by petty morality, where the great would not be constrained by the small! And with the sweat of your brow, Rapture can become your city, as well."
Rapture was built by Andrew Ryan because he believed that people should not be restricted to do whatever they wished. Basically it was a city for elitist. For geniuses. BUT GENIUSES ARE NOT WELL-KNOWN FOR THEIR MENTAL STABILITY (quote from PCGAMER BRITAIN).
Anyway in my first few seconds in Rapture I was greeted by, 2 human-like figures, the inhabitants of Rapture. 1 of them had a meat hook and the other was unarmed. The latter was pleading for his life (I don't know what they're fighting about). But the former just stabbed him. the light flickered on and off and didn't allow me to witness every detail of the fight. One slash, twice...thrice till the unarmed figure moved no more.
Later I learn from a guy named Atlas who communicated to me through a radio, that those inhabitants were called SPLICERS. They're all genetically, mentally and emotionally mutated.

Mentally disturbed splicers will....
Throw furniture
As I begin to explore the area by going up stairs, a hear a mad scream. "I CAN CONTROL MYSELF I SWEAR I CAN!!" A splicer runs across my screen and throws an inflamed sofa at me.
Have weird babies
A woman stares depressingly into a baby pram. Crying and sobbing away, regretting giving such a bad life to her child. I go close to her thinking she'd be harmless but she turns in fear and swings a metal pipe at me. I dodge her madness and swing my 3kg, 50cm long wrench at her face. The hit connects and she's knocked dead. Then apprehensively, I look into the pram. That's no baby...It's a F***ing shotgun.
GAME PLAY
1. It's first person shooter. Yes, the type of game view that makes you puke.
2. Interesting weapons such as the use of plasmids to call forth lightning from your fingers or snap you're fingers to engulf something in flames.
Yep that's all I can think off to summarize the game play.
It's a mentally disturbing game. A balance of chills and thrills. I want to finish the game, but I'm afraid to play... PLAY ON....
The game taught me the idea of objectivism. Interesting idea by Ayn Rand. This is true. Someone actually wrote a book about her idea of objectivism. It's a deep idea. Thankfully it's not carried out by anyone yet. I mean look what happened with communism...
The graphics are soo awesome...and the awesomely graphic game runs oh-so smoothly on my computer... -dazes-
INTRO OF BIOSHOCK:
